From Stressed to Inner Calm

We all feel overwhelmed sometimes — the racing thoughts, tension in the body, trouble sleeping. Today, Mingyur Rinpoche shares how awareness can help you reconnect with inner calm — not after the storm passes, but right in the middle of it.

In the video, you’ll hear how panic became Rinpoche’s teacher, and you’ll try a short reflection.

💭 Today’s prompt:
Think of a moment today — even a small one — when something uncomfortable showed up.

Maybe it was stress, restlessness, noise, or tension in your body.

How did you normally react?
Did you try to push it away? Ignore it? Get caught in it or exaggerate it?

Whatever you did is totally okay — it’s just helpful to notice.

Reflection:

What happened when you paused and let that experience be there, even briefly?

What did you notice when you said (even quietly), “Okay. You’re here. Hello.”

There’s no right or wrong way to explore what you’ve experienced.

This is simply a space to respond — in your own words, in your own rhythm — to whatever arose during your practice.

You might write a few sentences, a list of impressions, a single word… or just sit quietly with what you felt.

Let this be a soft landing place — a way of returning home to yourself.
