Introducing My Path

Update your progress on the Joy of Living and/or Path of Liberation levels.

Why My Path Feature?

The Tergar pathway of meditation – the Tergar Path – consists of Mingyur Rinpoche’s main offerings: the Joy of Living and Path of Liberation. The My Path feature allows you to record and update your progress as you move through the different levels.

In this special message, Mingyur Rinpoche shares:

  • his own experience with prerequisites

  • the importance of not knowing “the end of the movie” as it pertains to the levels of teachings

  • the progress he notices in students who are doing the homework

  • the difficulties arising from the mind becoming “dry from dharma”

How to Use the My Path feature?

To access My Path, visit events.tergar.org and click on your profile located in the top right-hand corner and then choose your preferred language.  This short tutorial walks you through the process:

Use of the My Path feature will become mandatory for registration for our Tergar courses and retreats by 2025.

Throughout your pathway, please remember to return to My Path to update your information as you complete practice requirements for the Joy of Living and/or the Path of Liberation.

If you have questions about your qualifications, please email studysupport@tergar.org; if you have technical questions navigating MyPath, please email tlcsupport@tergar.org

“In Tergar we have step-by-step requirements to progress. This style of teaching is what we call “experiential style,” and it is based on the four pointing out instructions. If someone hasn’t gone through those step by step and doesn't have some idea of the view and experience, it will not be of so much benefit. Just receiving and receiving teachings is not of benefit. You have to practice.

In the lineage itself, there's an emphasis on systematic practice: practice first, then homework, and then you're ready for the second level, and deepening. In this way, even though there may not be direct realization, the teachings are not just intellectual. Of course, they are intellectual, but some experience and deeper understanding come together!”
