Finding Real-Life Enlightenment In Our Modern Life

Long-time meditator, Buddhist practitioner, and best-selling author Susan Kaiser Greenland draws on a diverse spiritual background to weave together “golden threads” from different wisdom traditions in her new book, Real-World Enlightenment. The “golden threads” – the backbone of her book – are the universal themes that make up a wise and compassionate worldview and lead to psychological and emotional freedom. They allow for glimpses of “real-world enlightenment,” where our sense of self drops away, and we feel connected to something far greater than ourselves—something vast and profound.

Can Enlightenment Be Relevant to Our Lives?

During this insightful 60-minute conversation with Dr. Cortland Dahl, Susan Kaiser Greenland, a beloved mindfulness teacher, best-selling author, seasoned Buddhist practitioner, and long-time student of Mingyur Rinpoche, will share her personal journey with meditation and the inspiration behind her recent book Real-World Enlightenment. The book is chock-full of practical methods and takeaways that bring forth the possibility that we can touch into qualities of enlightenment in the small things we say and do every day.

“Once you’ve had a taste of that real-world enlightenment, you know it’s possible and you know it is there. It doesn’t take much to recognize [real-world enlightenment] once we know where to look, and the effort it takes has a ripple effect that benefits those around us.”
