Dharamsala Practice Group
Note: In-person practice groups in Dharamsala have been suspended until further notice due to COVID-19 pandemic. As India opens up and people return to Dharamsala, we hope that in-person sessions will start again. In the meantime, you are invited to join the India online practice group. For more information please visit the link: India Practice Group – Online.
The Dharamsala practice group started over 10 years ago as a way for visitors to the picturesque Indian hill station of Dharamsala/McLeod Ganj to experience meditation. Attendees included people from all over the world including local Indian nationals and Tibetans as well as expats.
The Dharamsala practice group has visited Munsel-ling schools in Yol and in Rangrig in the Spiti Valley, offering meditation classes and awareness games for children developed by Mingyur Rinpoche at his monastery in Bodhgaya. These community outreach programs were very successful: hundreds of children attended and benefited from using meditation to alleviate exam related stress.
We have met in a number of places around McLeod including Namgyal Monastery the home of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and even had the good fortune of having Mingyur Rinpoche join one of our Joy of Living workshops and lead our first morning session.
