Introduction to Meditation Workshop
With Holger Yeshe and Michael Fuchs
Bamberg, Germany
Meditation helps us to discover a deep sense of well-being that is not dependent on the circumstances of our lives. When we learn to tame our minds and open our hearts through the practice of meditation, we discover the compassionate wisdom and radiant joy that is our true nature.
In this meditation workshop we will practice different methods of meditation taught by Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche and watch video meditation instructions by him. There will be also time for discussion, clarifying questions, and just sharing our experiences, inspiration, and fun in the practice of mindfulness in everyday life.
Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche is a rising star among the new generation of Tibetan Buddhist masters. He possesses a rare ability to present the ancient wisdom of Tibet in a fresh, engaging manner. His profound yet accessible teachings and playful sense of humor have endeared him to students around the world. Most uniquely, Rinpoche’s teachings weave together his own personal experiences with modern scientific research, relating both to the practice of meditation. His bestselling book, The Joy of Living debuted on the New York Times bestseller list and has been translated into over twenty languages.
These teachings are suitable for people of all faiths, as well as both beginning and experienced meditators. It’s not as hard as you might think! You don’t have to be Buddhist to meditate. You don’t even have to be religious or “spiritual”. All you need is a sincere desire to open your heart and mind to the present moment. The workshop is open for all and will be conducted in German.
We will be supported by Holger Yeshe. He has been practising meditation since 1999 and has been a student of Mingyur Rinpoche since 2006. Born in Nürnberg, Germany, he has been living abroad for most of his life mainly in different meditation centers. Since 2005, he lives in India and Nepal. Since 2010, he has been studying Buddhist philosophy and the Tibetan language in Dharamsala and leading Joy of Living groups in Kathmandu, Erlangen, Nürnberg, and Dharamsala.
