Finding Ease in our True Nature
Weekend Residential Meditation Retreat
With Tergar Instructors Edwin Kelley and Myoshin Kelley
St. Anthony Spirituality Center
Marathon City, Wisconsin, USA
Our true nature is naturally peaceful and at ease. Due to our busy and complex lives we often lose touch with this. Throughout this weekend we will explore ways that allow us to rest at ease in the midst of the ups and downs of life. As we shift from looking to the external world for happiness and safety we can turn towards our innate resources.
This 4-day retreat is both an excellent introduction to meditation practice for beginners, and also a wonderful opportunity for experienced meditators to deepen their practice. It features the very accessible and highly effective methods developed by Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche, presented by Tergar Instructors Myoshin and Edwin Kelley.
Over these four days, we will explore two important forms of meditation — awareness meditation and loving-kindness and compassion meditation — experiencing firsthand how these practices can transform the mind and open the heart.
About the Instructors
Edwin Kelley attended his first meditation retreat in 1975 and has practiced in both the Theravada and the Tibetan Buddhist traditions. He was Executive Director of the Insight Meditation Society from 1996-2003 and has a postgraduate diploma in Buddhist Studies. Edwin is a long-time student of Mingyur Rinpoche. In addition to his work as a senior instructor, he currently serves as co-executive director, and is a board member for Tergar International.
Myoshin Kelley attended her first meditation retreat in 1975 at the age of 20. Through the ensuing years she has received dharma instructions from several renowned Buddhist meditation teachers in the Theravada, Zen, and Vajrayana traditions. She spent fifteen years as a meditation teacher at the Insight Meditation Society in Barre, MA, USA.
