Path of Liberation – Ngöndro Practice Retreat
With Tergar Instructor Edwin Kelley
Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
In this daylong retreat we will review the common preliminary practices of ngöndro, the Four Thoughts, and the first of the unique preliminary practices, Taking Refuge. The day will include DVD excerpts from Mingyur Rinpoche’s ngöndro teaching, and also group practice, discussion, and clarification of the practices with Tergar instructor Edwin Kelley.
This one-day retreat is open to those who have attended Path of Liberation retreats with Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche or Tsoknyi Rinpoche, and who have received the appropriate transmissions to begin the preliminary practices. This includes the 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014 St. John’s retreats, the 2010 St. John’s retreat (both tracks of the month-long retreat and the advanced track of the weeklong retreat), and the Garrison Institute retreat in 2010, among others.
The Path of Liberation is an experiential path of meditation for those who wish to practice the Buddhist teachings under the guidance of Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche. Encompassing the most important practices of the Kagyü and Nyingma lineages of Tibetan Buddhism and building on the foundational teachings of The Joy of Living, the Path of Liberation presents a series of meditation techniques designed to strip away the causes of suffering and uncover the radiant awareness that underlies all experience.
