The Science and Practice of the Meditative Mind
With Dr Richard Davidson of the University of Wisconsin—Madison
And Tergar Instructor Myoshin Kelley
St Paul, Minnesota, USA
In this workshop, Professor Davidson and senior meditation instructor Myoshin Kelley will explore the science and practice of meditation. Scientific research has discovered surprising things about the brain’s ability to change and adapt, and how meditation can change the way the brain functions. Dr. Davidson will share what he has learned studying some of the world’s most experienced meditators and discuss some of the key findings and challenges in the nascent field of contemplative neuroscience. Myoshin Kelley will guide the group through meditation exercises in each session that will provide a direct experience of contemplative meditation practices. Join us for this daylong exploration of the way meditation affects the body, mind, and the brain.
