Free Introduction to Meditation Series
Medford, Oregon, USA
Interested in meditation but not sure where to begin? Please join us for a short introduction to meditation series, where we will learn some simple practices that will awaken us to the joy of the present moment. In this class, we will learn how meditation can transform all aspects of our experience into sources of joy. In particular, we will practice resting the mind in a state of relaxed, alert attention (a practice known as “resting in open awareness”), as well as how to use sound, thoughts, and emotions in constructive ways.
In this four-part course, Mingyur Rinpoche explains what meditation is and how to get started. It’s not as hard as you think. You don’t have to be Buddhist to meditate. You don’t even have to be religious. All you need is a sincere desire to open your heart and mind to the present moment.
This course includes experiential video teachings by Mingyur Rinpoche and a discussion group moderated by members of the Tergar community. These teachings are suitable for people of all faiths, as well as both beginning and experienced meditators.
