Tergar NYC holds a regular meditation group in Manhattan, in addition to periodic retreats, seminars, and classes on meditation and Buddhist practice. We also host regular visits by Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche and other meditation teachers. Please join us!
Meditation Group Details
Tergar practice group on alternate Mondays, 7pm-8:30 pm
Under Mingyur Rinpoche’s guidance, Tergar International has developed a Meditation Practice Group program to support groups that meet regularly to learn, discuss, and practice meditation, but who do not have access to a trained Tergar practice leader, facilitator, or instructor. Each session of this program includes two guided meditations, questions for discussion, selected readings from Mingyur Rinpoche’s two books, and take home meditation exercises. Practice groups operate independently of Tergar International, though more mature groups may eventually evolve into official Tergar Communities.
The Joy of Living approach emphasizes direct experience and the integration of meditation with everyday life, presenting techniques that can be practiced by anyone, regardless of faith or cultural background. If you are new to meditation, this group will offer a gentle immersion into the world of mindfulness. If you are following our Joy of Living or Path of Liberation programs, these groups provide a wonderful opportunity to deepen your spiritual practice.
Feel free to attend regularly, or to drop in as your schedule allows. Each night will focus on a particular topic and is self-contained. We hope to see you there!

In this weekend workshop with Senior Tergar Facilitator Kell Julliard, we will explore the practice of insight meditation. By bringing our unchallenged beliefs and patterns into the light of awareness, we can see how our rigid ideas often blind us to the richness of our true nature.
