Exploring Buddhism
The Path of the Bodhisattva
With Tergar Facilitators Kasumi Kato and Abby Lindemann
Tergar Madison
The bodhisattva ideal is to help all sentient beings become buddhas. This lofty intention lies at the core of Mahayana Buddhism, or the “Great Vehicle.” In this six-week seminar, we will explore the core teachings of this tradition and learn how we can emulate the great bodhisattvas of times past by developing the mind of awakening (bodhichitta), and by practicing the six perfections of generosity, discipline, patience, joyful effort, meditation, and wisdom. Each class includes guided meditation, periods of discussion, and video teachings by Mingyur Rinpoche. Sessions will be led by Tergar Facilitators Kasumi Kato and Abby Lindemann.
This seminar is open to anyone with an interest in Buddhism, including both novice meditators and experienced practitioners. Participants will receive a link to the course study materials to download in advance of the start of the course.
