Earthquake Response from Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche

Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche was at a ceremony in Nepal when the shocking news of the earthquake in Japan reached him. Rinpoche was deeply saddened and concerned for the people in the area of the disaster. Rinpoche encourages all Buddhists around the world not to panic. In particular, those in the midst of the turmoil should face these disastrous circumstances courageously and not give up hope. We should all realize, Rinpoche stated, that this is the nature of the world. For the country and people who are afflicted by the earthquake, and also for the future of our world, please chant the mantras of Green Tara and Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) continuously. Rinpoche himself will continuously pray and supplicate for every one of us.
