Weekend Meditation Retreat
With Tergar Instructor Myoshin Kelley

Meditation allows us to calm the mind, open the heart, and live more fully in the present moment. In this retreat, we will explore the practice of meditation and how to integrate meditative awareness with all activities. Based on the extraordinary meditation teachings of Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche, the Joy of Living program emphasizes universal principles that are profoundly beneficial for people of all faiths and belief systems.

This retreat will offer an excellent introduction for new students and a time to deepen practice for experienced practitioners. The daily schedule will include meditation sessions interspersed with short discussions and presentations by Tergar instructor Myoshin Kelley.

Teacher & Instructor Bios

Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche is a rising star among the new generation of Tibetan Buddhist masters.  With a rare ability to present the ancient wisdom of Tibet in a fresh, engaging manner, Rinpoche’s profound teachings and playful sense of humor have endeared him to students around the world. Myoshin Kelley attended her first meditation retreat in 1975 at the age of 20. Through the ensuing years she has received dharma instructions from several renowned Buddhist meditation masters in the Theravada, Zen and Vajrayana traditions. She has practiced extensively with the Burmese meditation masters Chanmyay Sayadaw, Sayadaw U Pandita, and Sayadaw U Tejaniya. In the early 1990s Myoshin received meditation instruction from the Soto Zen master Hogen Yamahata. Her desire for long-term meditation practice has taken her to Burma on several occasions.
