The Noble Heart
Weekend Residential Meditation Retreat
With Senior Tergar Instructors Edwin and Myoshin Kelley
Holy Spirit Retreat Center
Janesville, Minnesota, USA
When we are at home and at ease within ourselves, we discover our noble heart. This is the heart that is both compassionate and wise, even in the face of life’s difficulties. When we are motivated to connect with these qualities within ourselves and nurture them, we discover our innate strength and ease. Engaging our noble heart empowers us to live in a way that brings forth the natural warmth of our being and the wisdom that supports us in facing what can appear to be an increasingly harsh and threatening world.
Who Should Attend:
In Mingyur Rinpoche’s tradition, spending time in solo or group retreat is highly valued as an important way to deepen our understanding and experience of practice. Whether you have never done a retreat before or are a seasoned practitioner, this program provides an excellent opportunity to taste the benefits of sustained practice.
Schedule:
Friday, March 24, 6pm—9pm
Saturday, March 25, 7am—9pm
Sunday, March 26, 7am—3pm
The retreat will take place in a secluded environment with the support of a community of meditators. The daily schedule will include six to eight hours of meditation per day (practiced in twenty to thirty minute sessions), and will incorporate periods of silence, along with video teachings by Mingyur Rinpoche, group discussions, and presentations on the key points of meditation by Senior Tergar Instructors Edwin and Myoshin Kelley.
Location and Meals:
The retreat will be held at Holy Spirit Retreat Center, located on Lake Elysian in Janesville, Minnesota. The retreat center offers a secluded and peaceful refuge only 70 minutes from the Twin Cities.
Meals will be vegetarian. The retreat center will do its best, within reason, to accommodate additional dietary restrictions, as long as those restrictions are noted when registering online.
Check-in and on-site registration will begin at 6pm. The opening session will be at 7:30pm. Please note that no evening meal will be offered on Friday so plan to eat before you arrive or bring your dinner with you.
Room Assignments:
The retreat center offers 12 double rooms and 3 single rooms. If any double rooms have not been filled by the retreat start date, they may be made available as single rooms at the single-room rate.
