Power of the Mind
Weekend Residential Meditation Retreat
With Senior Tergar Instructor Myoshin Kelley
Janesville, Minnesota, USA
During this weekend retreat we will be exploring the power of the mind. Our minds have the capacity to create self-made prisons as well as direct us towards freedom. By becoming more familiar with our minds through meditation, we begin to learn how to tame the monkey mind and then look towards our basic nature. When there is a balance between calm and insight, we find the capacity to clarify confusion.
In Mingyur Rinpoche’s tradition, spending time in solo or group retreat is highly valued as an important way to deepen our understanding and experience of practice. Whether you have never done a retreat before or are a seasoned practitioner, this program provides an excellent opportunity to taste the benefits of sustained practice. This retreat is suitable for all meditators, and includes breakout sessions for Path of Liberation students.
Schedule:
Friday, November 18, 6pm—9pm
Saturday, November 19, 7am—9pm
Sunday, November 20, 7am—3pm
The retreat will take place in a secluded environment with the support of a community of meditators. The daily schedule will include six to eight hours of meditation per day (practiced in twenty to thirty minute sessions), and will incorporate periods of silence, along with video teachings by Mingyur Rinpoche, group discussions, and presentations on the key points of meditation by Senior Tergar Instructor Myoshin Kelley.
