The Joy of Living Level II: Opening the Heart

In this series of video presentations, Tibetan meditation master and best-selling author Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche teaches how meditating on love, compassion, joy and equanimity can open our hearts to the world around us and decrease the self-fixation that lies at the root of suffering. This weekend is suitable for people of all faiths, as well as both beginning and experienced meditators.

The schedule will include video teachings by Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche, along with guided meditations, discussion, and short presentations on the key points of meditation practice by Tergar instructor Tim Olmsted.

Teacher & Instructor Bios

Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche is a rising star among the new generation of Tibetan Buddhist masters.  With a rare ability to present the ancient wisdom of Tibet in a fresh, engaging manner, Rinpoche’s profound teachings and playful sense of humor have endeared him to students around the world. Tim Olmsted has practiced meditation for over thirty years and has studied with some of the greatest Tibetan masters of the past century. He served for three years as the director of Gampo Abbey, the largest residential Buddhist monastery in North America and is currently president of the Pema Chödrön Foundation. In 2003, Tim founded the Yongey Foundation to support and promote Mingyur Rinpoche's activities in the West. Tim lives with his wife Glenna in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, where he leads an active community that follows Mingyur Rinpoche's teachings and those of Mingyur Rinpoche's family lineage.
